The field of Chicano studies is constantly expanding. Some question whether the ethnic groups termed Latino should constitute one large national group or should be classified as individual regional groups. This paper examines: what Chicano studies critics believe; how Chicano studies can connect with the Latino diaspora; how to encourage comparative studies; Cuban studies; and geographic challenges in Chicano studies.
