LUZON
Angeles City

Angeles City is one of the cities in the province of Pampanga, in the Central Luzon region. It is rich in history and heritage, with old and historical significant buildings dotting its landscape. In 1899, it became the seat of the Philippine Government under General Emilio Aguinaldo, and the site of the first anniversary celebration of Philippine Independence.

The city is a booming nightlife center and tourist destination, while the adjoining Clark Special Economic Zone is the site of world-class resorts, casinos, duty-free shops, and golf courses. Its capital, Balibago, is especially known for its bars and nightclubs, thus tagged the entertainment district. The city, and the rest of the Pampanga region, is known as the Culinary Center of the Philippines.

Clark Special Economic Zone
Has world-class resorts, casinos, duty-free shops, and golf courses.
Clark Air Base
The biggest American military installation outside the United States.
Post Office Building
Constructed in 1899, it was used as a jail house for recalcitrant U.S. troops during the Philippine-American War.
Old Pamintuan Residence
Seat of government of the First Philippine Republic under General Emilio Aguinaldo.
Don Juan Nepomuceno Residence
The oldest building in the city, built in 1824, by the city founder, Don Angeles Pantaleon de Miranda.
Holy Family Academy Building
Served as a military hospital of the U.S. Army in 1899, and later as the troop barracks, officer's quarters, and arsenal by the Japanese Imperial Military Forces in 1942.
Astro Park
An ideal spot for sports and recreational activities.
Kamikaze Museum
Houses World War II mementos and different helmets used by the Axis and Allied powers of World War II. It is found inside the residence of the noted Pampango artist, Dan H. Dizon, President of the Kamikaze Memorial Society of the Philippines.
Bale Matua
The residence of the founders of Angeles City, Don Angel Panteleon de Miranda and his wife Doņa Rosalia de Jesus.
Holy Rosary Cathedral
Used as a military hospital by the U.S. Army from August 1899 to December 1900. Its backyard was the execution ground to the Spanish forces in shooting down Filipino rebels and suspects.



MAJOR EVENTS :
Fiestang Kuliat - October
Features a whole month of merrymaking and celebrations, highlighted by a parade of floats and "mini jeeps."
 
La Naval Fiesta - 2nd Sunday of October
A celebration in honor of the Virgin of the Holy Rosary. This fiesta is highlighted by typical religious programs and Filipino homes displaying the finest traditions of hospitality in entertaining guests with the finest food and drinks.
 
Tigtigan At Terakan Keng Dalan - last weekend of October
A two-day merry-making featuring streetdancing, variety shows, and a booth selling souvenir items.
 
Apo Fiesta - last Friday of Oct.
A celebration that begins with several masses at the Holy Rosary Parish Church, after which the faithful kiss the feet of the Image of the Reclining Christ.
