Licenses University (Noncommercial)
Licenses will only be issued to an organization—your organization's
business office must make the application.
Process: Follow the instructions below. When we receive the
fully executed license agreement and the fee, we will send you a copy of
the license with both signatures. You can then ask for either a CD containing TRANSIMS-LANL, or you may download
TRANSIMS-LANL from our Web site (using a passcode we will provide).
Fee: The University (Noncommercial) licensing fee is a one-time
payment of one thousand ($1,000) U.S. dollars.
INSTRUCTIONS
- Fill in all areas of the License Agreement form,
submit the data, and print out the approval page.
- Have an official
of your institution sign it (this is usually a person in your
business office; they must be able to sign on behalf of your institution).
- Fax the signed agreement to Charles Gibson
at (505) 665-0154.
- Once your appplication has been processed and approved by the Los Alamos National Laboratory Technical Transfer Office, you will receive an email confirmation and a passcode. The passcode can be used to download the software from our Web site at the Download area.
If you have questions, please e-mail Charles Gibson at gibson_charles_e@lanl.gov.
Foreign/University (Noncommercial)
All foreign licenses are subject to the U.S. Export Control Policy
and the Los Alamos National Laboratory's (LANL) export control procedures and must be approved prior to
the exportation of the software.
To conform with LANL's export control procedures, each foreign institution must complete an Export Checklist to
submit for export approval (see below).
The noncommercial foreign license fee
for TRANSIMS is a one-time payment of one thousand, one hundred ($1,100) U.S. dollars,
which comprises a $1,100 issue fee plus a $100 export processing
fee.
Upon receipt of a faxed, signed license agreement and the completed Export Checklist, the LANL Technology Transfer Office will submit the package for export approval. This approval process will take approximately 2—3 days to complete.
If you do not submit the required checklist, the LANL Technology Transfer Office may deny export, or submit your license request to the U.S. Deptartment of Commerce for review and approval, which may take a period of 2—3 months.
