BTC used to be the largest customs warehouse in socialist Yugoslavia before it did an ironic 180 in the 90s and began transforming itself into a terrifying shrine to consumerism - the ideal capitalist city. Now known as the Small City of Big Shoppings, BTC City is the biggest cluster of malls in Europe and still spreading like an infection. Only 3km outside of Ljubljana (towards Maribor) BTC currently has over 400 shops (all of which are enormous!), 30 restaurants, one of the biggest covered water parks in Europe, a multiplex cinema, a congress hall, comedy theatre, bowling alleys, go kart tracks, sports facilities (including beach volleyball courts), casinos, video game arcades and may we never discover what else. It literally is a city and you will absolutely get lost among its insane roundabouts and endless parking lots, so get yourself a map. Go there by car or bus no. 17. Generally open from 9:00 to 20:00 Monday - Saturday, though entertainment and recreational centers are open longer.
