Future-generation all-weather round-the-clock combat helicopter Ka-52 Alligator is designed for eliminating armored and unarmored ground targets as well as low-speed air targets and enemy troops at the front line and in tactical depth, reconnaissance and controlling a group of combat helicopters. The helicopter’s construction complies with requirements of Russian and international standards for combat helicopters and their operation.
The helicopter is supplied with concealment equipment, radioelectronic protection system as well as active counteraction tools. Essential systems and units of Ka-52 are duplicated and protected. Elements of the rotorcraft flight structure and transmission gear have extra safety margin. Explosionproof fuel tanks as well as autonomous fire extinguisher system is used. The helicopter has built-in control equipment and can operate in the field autonomously for 15 days.
Catapult seats with rocket-parachute system allow both members of the crew to leave the helicopter in case of emergency in any flight mode within the whole speed and altitude range.
The helicopter is equipped with multisensor sighting system that operates in optical, infrared and radar modes. Radioelectronic equipment of the helicopter is united into monolithic integrated system, which allows highly-automatic performance of flight control, navigation, weapons control and coordination of helicopters in the battlefield.
