Browser Requirements

Below are recommended browsers for viewing our site in various operating systems. If our browser recommendation does not result in a better experience with our website, please let us know by emailing us at the address below.

We appreciate your help in making the site better!

Please note that you will have the best and safest web experience with the latest version of whichever browser you use.

Windows PC

Macintosh OS X

Macintosh OS 9

  • Previously we recommended Netscape 7.0 for Mac PowerPC, but this software is now difficult to obtain if you do not already have it on your computer. If you are using Mac OS 9 and do not have Netscape 7, then use Internet Explorer 5.2.

You may browse the site in basic HTML mode or in full CSS mode.

The following browsers can only view the site in basic HTML mode: Opera versions prior to 8.0, Netscape 6, IE on Macintosh. Basic HTML mode will provide you with a simplified (though less attractive) interface that works on any browser, with almost all of the functionality.

Our web design strategy is to stick with standards as much as possible while providing appropriate functionality. Although web standards are well known and codified, different browsers interpret some of the rules more or less strictly. You can check our adherence to standards for HTML and CSS at the sites below. Note that some code has been purposefully included to work in non-standards compliant browsers and will fail validation. This is normal and may or may not indicate intentional behavior of the site.
