Division of Science Outreach Programs
The Office of Science Outreach coordinates and delivers outreach programs from all the departments in the Division of Science: Biology, Chemistry, Computing Science, Geology, Physics and Mathematics and Statistics.
We aim to deliver these programs to schools and communities throughout the province, and to encourage these groups to engage in science and math activities on the University of Saskatchewan campus.
Off-campus Science Outreach
PotashCorp Kamskénow, is a community school (inner city school) initiative targeted at Aboriginal elementary and high school students. The goal of this program is to provide high quality, hands-on science and mathematics activities on a weekly basis, over a four month period, to students attending elementary and high schools in Saskatoon.
Wonder Why?webinars engage students by interacting online with University of Saskatchewan scientists in real-time in the comfort of their own classroom. By partnering with Credenda Virtual High School, the Division of Science provides online interactive webinars to high school science and mathematics students from across Saskatchewan.
On-campus Science Outreach
Eureka! provides an opportunity for students to participate in science and math activities on campus. We arrange for school groups to work with scientists on campus to tour facilities or participate in hands-on activities. Opportunities include the following:
Optics and Radioactivity experiments in the Physics and Engineering Physics Department. Read More
