I am an Assistant Professor at the University of Washington Information School. I hold Adjunct appointments in Computer Science & Engineering, Biomedical Informatics & Medical Education, and Human-Centered Design & Engineering. I am also a Visiting Research Scientist at the Allen Institute for AI (AI2). My research asks whether AI and natural language processing techniques can make sense of scientific output and help people make better health-related decisions.
Previously, I was a postdoc at AI2 on the Semantic Scholar research team. I completed my PhD in the Department of Biomedical Informatics and Medical Education (BIME) at the University of Washington.
