The second University Press Redux Conference took place at the British Library on 13 and 14 February 2018, organized by ALPSP and programmed by UCL Press. With over 250 delegates and speakers attending from four continents and 17 countries, the conference presented an international view of the many and varied aspects of university press publishing from presses large and small, new and old, and from the many associated industries and organisations they work with including funders, policy makers, libraries and service providers. The conference was reported widely in the media, including articles in The Bookseller, Scholarly Kitchen and Research Fortnight.

How it all startedThe UP Redux Conference was launched in March 2016 by Liverpool University Press and the Academic Book of the Future project. Slides from the first conference can be found here.
Redux 2018 saw the launch of the inaugural University Press Redux Award for innovation in university press publishing.The recipient of the first award was Frances Pinter, scholarly publisher of longstanding whose career has included launching new university presses and roles as Publisher at Bloomsbury Academic and CEO of Manchester University Press. Most recently, she launched Knowledge Unlatched, a library crowdfunding venture that helps publishers make their books open access.
