Details

The role of member organizations is to provide vehicles to enable interactions between researchers. Oddly, decisions in the scholarly communications arena are usually made without recourse to researcher views, even when the member organization is actually owned by research communities. However, there is a growing literature on researcher attitudes and practices, outside the literature information in the blogosphere.

This group aims to explore ways for researchers to engage more widely with publishers, such as ALPSP members, through more direct interaction. This information may be used to improve products and services, or by third parties in anonymized reports.

The SIG would be relevant to most public-facing roles in the scholarly publishing industry.
